The peaceful trip to Mekong Delta on Tuesday and Wednesday~!!
it was tiring but with a peaceful location like that it's worth it~ =)
We started off in Sinh Tourist office.. It only cost us 550,000D for everything so it's cheap and reasonable~ =)
Alright I'm going to talk about a lil bit of history of Mekong Delta and hopefully I won't go wrong.. xD
Mekong Delta is made out of 13 provinces. The centre in Mekong Delta is the Mekong river. it starts from China and it goes through Laos, cambodia and more. The first day we are going to visit the mouth of the river or as what it is in BM is Kuala.
The first 2 branch and main river is named the money river and the dragon river. The dragon river is branched to many branches.
The locals in Mekong Delta are mainly vietnamese, cambodians, chinese and muslims. As all muslims, they are allowed to have 4 wives. They have a rule that the man can not go back to their hometown but when they die they will be buried in the hometown~
The main transportation in Mekong Delta are boats and motorbikes.
The Mekong River is split into 9 into the South China Sea. Different country calls the river with different names. The 2nd day we went to the Hau River where there'll be the floating markets. We can buy everything there except beer. Beers are not allowed to be sold there because there are no toilets for us to go if we're in trouble.
The orchard there are famous with so many tropical fruits and tourists are given free fruits. then we went Vin L0ng for 'shopping' .
So off we went to Mekong Delta. The 3 hours journey on the small van was horrible actually.. got sick the day I went back.. T_T
he told us about the history of mekong delta and the places that we're going to visit..
This is the boat that we're going to travel in for half of the day~

Notice this big boat, people actually live in there because they are too poor..

Loads of coconuts everywhere along the river..

our first stop is the brick factory~ here they showed us how bricks are processed~ interesting for me because I am studying about this.. ;)

This is the material that they used.. erm~ some kind of soil that I forgot.. ==!!
this is the machine used to cut the bricks into 4 and puncture 4 holes into it..

This is where the bricks are incinerated for almost 1 to 2 weeks.. and the source that they used for burning are husks..

These are the rice husks..

and there are loads of water coconuts along the river.. but water coconuts are not that delicious anyway.. @@

And our next stop was the honey farm~ here we enjoyed superb honey tea and fruits and live traditional music~
and we have a visitor.. or should i say we are the visitors.. ==!!! this spider is huge!!

and this is the honey tea~ yummy!!

and bees!!

traditional music~

this guy's blind~ but he is seriously good in his guitar.. and he can play more than 10 musical instruments oh!

and our next stop~ the coconut candy factory

this is how they make the famous coconut candy~

and we get on a 'Tuk Tuk' as what they called it in Thailand but I've no idea what it's called in Vietnamese.. ==!!

and we walked into the forest~
and got on a 'sampan'!! xD super excited! hehehx

this is SO vietnamese.. hehehx

and this is the famous monkey bridge. monkey bridges are all over the village and it's only made from one coconut branch to walk on..

and the lunch was fantabulous..hahahx.. this is the first time seeing a fish upright in a meal.. ==!!

Tips for future travellers:
2 days trip to Mekong Delta is perfect~ you even have time for sight seeing on the first night~
But for Malaysians, the only thing that'll attract you is the Floating Market~
The brick factory, coconut candy, honey farm and orchard is what I can say normal and nothing special for Malaysians.. I go there for the Floating Market anyway~ hehehex
Next up: Mue Ne and Dalat!
